CorelDRAW Essentials is no longer available. The instructions in the chapter Using A Bit Map Draw Program will work well for CorelDraw and CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12 if you allow just a little flexibility in interpretation here and there.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12 has a snap to objects feature. When you begin using the program, make sure that this feature is not selected by unchecking View>Snap To Objects if it is checked. Later, if you want to experiment, click on Snap To Objects under the View menu (it will then appear with a check mark in a box). You will learn about snap mode in the Using A CAD Program chapter.
